Tereyağından Yapılan Sanat

Sakızdan, balondan, teneke kutulardan hatta jant kapağından bile eserler yaratan sanatçılardan sonra şimdi sırada 63 yaşındaki Jim Victor'un ağızları açık bırakacak çalışmaları karşımıza çıkıyor.


Onun yapıtları, diğerlerinden biraz ayrılıyor. Çünkü kullandığı malzemenin soğuk bir ortamda kalması ve hiç erimemesi gerek! Hala ne olduğunu bulamadıysanız sanatçıdan dinleyelim:
"Tereyağ çalışmak için aslında kolay bir malzeme. Ona her şekli verebiliyorsun. Tabii bunun için biraz erimiş olması gerekiyor. Ancak dikkatli de olmak gerek, ısıyı iyi ayarlayıp çalışmayı ona göre şekillendirmek esas alınacak nokta. Yoksa eseriniz mahvolabilir. Bunun için de 13 derecelik bir sıcaklık yeterli"
Tereyağından yaptığı ilk heykelini 1995 yılında görücüye çıkaran sanatçı, kimi zaman bir eser üzerinde bir aydan fazla zaman çalışmak zorunda kaldığını belirtiyor. Ama genellikle 10 günden fazlayı bulmuyor.


"İşin boyutuna ve ayrıntılarına bağlı" açıklamasında bulunan Jim Victor, iki çocuk babası. Zamanının çoğunu ailesi yerine sanatıyla geçiren ve birbirinden artistik heykeller yapan Victor, meyve ve sebze çalışmalarının zorlayıcı olduğunu, özellikle renk ve doku konusunda dikkatli olmaya çabaladığını söylüyor.
Sanatçı, aynı zamanda çikolatan da heykeller yapıyor.
